You can incorporate your core muscles into your back workout using exercise and bosu balls. A great exercise is to stand on a bosu ball (to use your core muscles) then you use a cable machine that you can adjust so that the cable hook is just below chest level. Next, attach a row bar. Using the row bar stand arms length away from the bar then grab the bar and pull it in directly below your chest, extend your arms and repeat.

You can also do rows on an exercise ball provided that you can accurately perform the movement without the ball interfering.

Are you looking for a new chest workout? Well, you can add a balance and core muscle element to your chest workout by simply using an exercise (swiss) ball.

Here’s what you do:

Find an exercise ball that you are parallel with the ground and your knees are at 90 degrees when your back is lying on the ball. Next get some dumbbells that you feel comfortable with. I suggest less than you usually use. Then simple lay on the ball and do chest presses or chest flyes as you normally would on a bench.

You can also use a bosu ball to do these exercises if you do not feel comfortable with your balance yet. Another great thing you can do is push ups on the bosu ball. You can use the flat side or the rounded side. The flat side works better so I would recommend that.

Now you will be using your core muscles more for your chest workout.
